EDUS – Developing a training methodology for educating to sustainable development
About the project
The project seeks to enhance the incorporation of education for sustainable development into the VET system through the development, piloting, and dissemination of a training methodology.
Objectives
- The project aims at fostering the integration of education for sustainable development in the VET system by developing, piloting and disseminating a training methodology. More specifically.
- To identify and assess knowledge and competences related to sustainable development
- To equip trainers with a methodology and a set of tools for educating for sustainable development, adaptable to their needs.
- To mainstream education for sustainable development in the VET system.
Activities
- Research on good practices and national contexts.
- Developing a competency framework.
- Design of EDUS training programme for education for sustainable development and testing of the programme.
- Design of EDUS toolkit for educators.
- Dissemination and promotion of results.
Results
- A competency framework that integrates the SDGs and will include a competency self-assessment scale that trainers can use to assess their own and their students’ competences.
- A training curriculum for education for sustainable development, including learning objectives, activities, practical tips for implementing the activities and a toolkit that trainers can use to develop learners’ competences in sustainable development.
- Multimedia products and events to reach a wider audience of trainers in secondary vocational education.
Impact
- Involving local, national communities, networks and advocacy networks.
- Availability of project materials/resources in all partner languages.
- Public availability of free educational and digital components.
- Improved skills and competences of VET learners and teachers that will have lasting effects on their personal/professional background, which will influence their ability to create lasting project change.
- Increased willingness to cooperate at international level.
